The Harbor serves as a comprehensive Assessment Center for residential community reintegration and correctional treatment and provides housing and treatment services to New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) male incarcerated persons. Residents who have met their treatment goals are referred to appropriate work release programs while at The Harbor, based upon the decisions of the NJDOC Classification Committee.
In addition to regular programming and residential services at The Harbor, on Fridays throughout each month, The Harbor’s clinical staff focus on financial topics and provide evidence-based financial literacy didactic educational lectures to program residents, referred to as Financial Fridays!
Financial Fridays programming was enacted by Deputy Director GinaMarie Di Maiuta to assist program residents in financially preparing for reintegration into their communities.
Examples of Financial Friday topics include:
- Importance of Budgeting
- Managing Investments
- Financial Planning Tools
- Balancing Financial Accounts
- Financial Readiness for Return to the Community
The Harbor is committed to the successful reentry of its program participants and is always looking for unique and creative ways to expand educational programming.
